📸 Spring Semester Celebration Dinner – Honoring Our Graduates and Milestones

As the spring semester comes to a close, our lab gathered for a dinner celebration to mark the end of a fruitful academic term and to honor the significant achievements of our lab members.

This evening, we came together to celebrate the graduation of several of our talented colleagues and to recognize an important academic milestone. Congratulations to:

  • Dr. Jaehyung Jang – for successfully completing his Ph.D.
  • Handong Lee, SangHun Lee, Nabila Adawy, and Seif Farag – for earning their M.S. degrees.
  • Additionally, we celebrated the successful Ph.D. proposal defense by our fellow doctoral student.

During the dinner, Dr. Jaehyung Jang shared a memorable reflection that resonated deeply with everyone. Echoing one of our advisor’s well-known sayings — “You have to shake the apple tree to get the apples to fall” — he added his own insight:

“Most of those apples weren’t sweet at all — in fact, they were poisonous. But just like how many medicines are derived from poisons, we shouldn’t think of those bitter apples as poison. Instead, we should take them as medicine, and grow from the experience.”

His words were both humorous and profound, leaving a lasting impression on the younger members of our lab.

We are incredibly proud of each of our graduates and all they have accomplished. As they step into new chapters of their academic and professional journeys, we send our heartfelt best wishes for their continued success and personal growth.

To brighter futures and lasting memories – congratulations once again! 🎓✨
