To celebrate our professor’s birthday and farewell to Michi, we went to the Ashley Queen’s and enjoyed the dinner!

The IRiS summer MT was completed! We took a group photo while wearing IRiS customizing T-shirts and learned fun and thrilling surfing! Also, we enjoyed a delicious dinner in the evening!

Professor Aghil who is an alumnus of our IRiS lab conducted a seminar on the topic of bio-inspired rehabilitation. It was a good opportunity to learn the understanding and challenges of rehabilitation robots.
The first official MT of IRiS lab was successfully completed! We climbed Gyeryong mountain and ate a delicious barbecue. Best of all, recreation was a great time that entertained everyone in the IRiS lab. We’re looking forward to the next MT!

We are pleased to announce that our Prof. Ryu was appointed as the chair in charge of the overall distinguished lecturer in the Robotics and Automation Society of IEEE, the world’s most prestigious robot society. Congratulations!
In celebration of the 51st anniversary of the university’s founding in 2022(Feb. 16, 2022), Prof. Jee-Hwan Ryu was awarded the Excellence prize for a special award for outstanding faculty in the social service category. Congratulations!

We are pleased to inform that our another collaborative research paper with Stanford, “Vine Robots: Design, Teleoperation, and Deployment for Navigation and Exploration” is the recipient of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Magazine “Best Paper Award 2020”.

We are pleased to announce that our collaborative research paper with Stanford, “A Tip Mount for Transporting Sensors and Tools Using Soft Growing Robots” for IROS 2020, has been nominated as a ‘Finalist for the IROS Best Paper Award’ on Robot Mechanisms and Design.

SangMin Lee, JoongKu Lee and KwangUk Jeong won the “2020 NAVER LABS Mapping & Localization Challenge” on indoor section! (details)
Out of a total 12 university teams all across Korea, IRiS team finished the challenge with surprisingly high score!
